UofT Music Student Delivers Awe-Inspiring Performance at Grammy’s

Noah Cazabon

You’ve heard the chatter: “Who’s going to be performing?,” “What will Chappell wear?,” “Where’s Katy Perry’s Grammy?”  It’s easy to get swept up in awards season buzz coming out of Los Angeles, but many are talking about a sensation right on our own campus.

UofT music department student Tom Bourine made his debut guitar/vocal/theremin performance at his grandmother’s house this weekend. Grammy Bourine was really proud of her grandson - “He really is a one-in-a-thousand kind of talent.”

An insider familiar with the Bourine family has informed reporters that Grammy Bourine suffers from an extremely rare form of hearing loss, where she can only process sounds between 1 and 25 Hz. Despite her condition, she still sings her praises for her grandson, and says that she “will always support his unachievable pipe dreams no matter what .”
